Self-consumption and solar energy.

The solar self-consumption allows to produce a part (or the whole) of the electric energy for its direct consumption in our house or business, through solar panels. Since October 9, 2015, with the publication of Royal Decree 900/2015, this type of green energy production, and its electrical consumption, is a legal and profitable alternative, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

There are isolated self-consumption installations that are not connected to the mains. However, most of the facilities are connected. In this case, the owner consumes his own green energy produced by solar panels. The excess is poured directly into the net as well, if more energy is required than that produced by the photovoltaic system, it is acquired from the electrical grid. With this modality, you optimize your electricity consumption, being able to save up to 50% in the light bill, besides having access to the electric 24 hours a day.

Although solar energy is based on the use of solar radiation, significant savings are obtained on the bill of light even in less sunny places than the south of Spain, and also on cloudy and rainy days, as the panels are still working. In fact, Germany has more photovoltaic installations than Spain.

Betting on self-consumption through solar energy means that, part of the energy consumed, is generated by solar panels installed in your business or home. This is transformed into a savings in the electricity bill, a reduction in CO2 emissions and thus contributes to create a greener world. So far, solar panels used to be installed on the roof, but TSO’s ultra-light flexible solar panels also allow for a facade installation.

Solar self-consumption in companies

Solar self-consumption is suitable and viable for any type of company or industry. The economic benefit (savings in electricity consumption bills) is more significant in those that concentrate the largest electricity expenditure during the day. The installation of solar panels for self-consumption provides several benefits in small and large companies, hotels and restaurants, farms, cattle ranches, as well as in schools, business centers and offices. In this way, the economic saving and the lowering of the energy costs is only one point in favor of the solar self-consumption. By creating and consuming green energy, we minimize CO2 emissions, helping to preserve our planet.

In addition, society is increasingly aware of renewable energies, and demands greater environmental commitment from companies.

With the installation of the TSO Solar Kit, you obtain the certification “ECO20 ®: Made with solar energy” which guarantees that during the production process much of the energy used is 100% of solar origin, thus attesting that the production in your company is done with solar energy and therefore adding a differential value to your business. Betting on solar energy increases corporate social responsibility and improves the brand image.

Self-consumption at home

Solar consumption also increases the value of its property by 4% compared to other similar properties. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Even estimates this increase, and according to statistical data, a typical single-family house with a solar self-consumption facility of 2 KW will increase its value by €10,600. Even real estate agencies confirm that a home with solar consumption is sold more quickly.

Self-consumption in neighboring communities

Spain is one of the European countries where more people reside in blocks of flats. Currently 66% of the Spanish population lives in neighboring communities. To meet the energy needs of the common areas of these buildings, the installation of solar panels and self-consumption are an ideal solution to lower the cost of light.

paneles solares flexibles tso en viviendasDespite all the advantages of self-consumption and the hours of sunshine that we enjoyed in Spain, in August 2016, only 75 photovoltaic installations of self-consumption were recorded, that to this day have risen to the figure of 351, all of small supplies of power inferior to 10kW in the Register of self-consumption.  Remember, solar self-consumption is legal and profitable.

If you are interested in solar consumption, we advise you on which installation is best for your case, we inform you about the possible incentives and subsidies available and we take care of all the procedures and the technical installation. All this so you can produce your own green energy, with your TSO Solar photovoltaic Kit.

“ECO20® made with solar energy” – Differentiate your products with sustainable certification.

The final customer decides what is being sold.

The power of the consumer who is increasingly concerned about sustainable and ethically produced products cannot be underestimated. In this way it is the consumer who has managed to get some supermarket chains to withdraw eggs from cage-bred hens, that more and more organic food can be acquired on large areas, and that there are whole ranges for gluten-allergic, and all this, at an increasingly affordable price for most people.

To give the consumer peace of mind and confidence, the products carry a certification that certifies the sustainable, ecological, fair or free production of certain substances.

Thus, in the case of organic food, there are different seals according to the country where organic production was certified, for example the EU Organic Bio Logo, Ecocert, CAEE (Andalusian Committee for Organic Farming), Bioland, Sophiscert and Demeter among others. The beamed spike (ELS) or “FACE controlled” certifies gluten-free products. And, in the case of cocoa, are several certifications such as Fair Trade (Fairtrade), organic certification (IFOAM), Rainforest Alliance and UTZ Certified (Sustainable agriculture).

The purchase, and hence the sale, of certified sustainable products is growing, and a continuation of this trend is expected in the coming years, or even an increase at a faster rate.

Major brands have to adapt to consumer behaviour and the trend towards sustainable, ecological, social and ethical. For example, last week, the chocolate company Rittersport has announced that all its production will be based on sustainable cocoa. And for their sustainable and social policies they have been awarded the German Sustainable Enterprises Award 2018.

What connection do these sustainable, ecological and ethical food certificates have with the TSO solar kit and our “ECO20 ®: Made with solar Energy” certification?

A certification is a written guarantee, granted by an independent certifying agency, which ensures that the production process or that the product complies with certain requirements established by different organizations or countries. This makes it possible to differentiate the products with certification from others.

With the Certification “ECO20 ®: Made with solar energy” it is guaranteed that during the production process much of the energy used is 100% of solar origin. The independent body that gives the certification in this case is an entity accredited by ENAC and as “ECO20 ®: Made with Solar Energy” is based on the Guarantees of Origin, it is the own CNMC (National commission of Markets and Competition), which proves that certain electrical energy used in the production process has been obtained from the Sun.

When the consumer buys products that carry the “ECO20 ®: Made with solar energy” certification, it can be calm that in the production process, solar energy has been used, which our ultraflexible photovoltaic solar panels (PSFU) generate. Therefore, the final customer knows that it acquires more sustainable products and that the carbon footprint of the food it obtains in a supermarket is lower compared to that of another; Since in its production process it has been used renewable energy, coming from the sun. Consumers responsible for the environment, in this way, are confident that products with “ECO20 ®: Made with Solar Energy” reduce the impact on the greenhouse effect. That is why companies have, at the end, a certification that differentiates them as a sustainable company and committed to our planet.

What’s more, if the external agents and customers, of the companies where we have installed our Solar TSO kit, want to check firsthand that it is actually occurring with solar energy, our information screens ratify, at all times, the energy Generated with photovoltaic solar panels.

In our autonomous community, the agri-food sector plays a fundamental role, and so our first steps are being given in this área. Soon, consumers will be able to find food certified with “ECO20 ®: Made with solar energy “and among all we will not only socialize solar energy, but make this planet a better world. TSO AWARDS A GIFT OF 15,000 EUROS IN ELECTRICITY

On Friday, February 16, TSO awarded a present of 15,000 euros in electricity. At the annual dinner of the Association of Property Managers of Seville (CAFS), attended by more than 140 property managers, there was a happy winner, to whom TSO will install a Solar Photovoltaic Kit “S” at the location of his choice. Along the kit’s lifetime, the winner will save a good 15,000 euros in his electricity bill. Not only that: he will also reduce CO2 emissions in estimated 22,330 kg for 25 years, equivalent to the CO2 emissions of a family car driving 35 days non-stop, or, likewise, of a 42” LED TV continually turned on for 15 years. On top of that, our Solar Kit is equipped with a monitoring system showing energy generation and consumption in real time.

But the best is always left for the end. The awarded Solar Photovoltaic Kit includes the ECO20® certification, granting that 100% of the obtained energy comes from the sun. The building where the solar panels are installed will thus have its own green energy certificate.

The picture shows the CEO of TSO, Antonio Calo, together with Alejandro Pallarés, Manager of our CFV product portfolio, and the prize winner, the property manager Manuel Pérez Ramos. Our congratulations to the winner. Producing energy with TSO’s Solar Kit is a guaranteed prize for anyone installing it on its home or business. If you wish to know more about the advantages of our Solar Kits, there is more information here.

We would be pleased to assist you in person.

USE OF SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN BUSINESSES

Energy management is increasingly penetrating businesses and office buildings, as well as agri-food installations. The seek for energy efficiency is a question of cost savings, but mainly of an environmental consciousness.

Among the saving measures and improvement of energy efficiency in buildings, renewable energies play a key role, even though up until now they are under-utilized. Most important is always that, given the features of the building and its installations, implementing solar photovoltaic panels is feasible both technically and economically. Therefore, at TSO we have created the PSFU product line (Ultralight Flexible Solar Panel), because, with these panels, we can turn any surface into a solar generator.

Andalusia is Spain’s sunniest region, with over 2,800 sun hours per year. At TSO, our goal is to take advantage of this fact and, therefore, we promote the socialization of solar energy. Our star product is called Community CFV, because our Photovoltaic Rooftop is designed to reach the whole community. Solar energy is sustainable, renewable, clean and silent.

Our purpose in TSO is to support businesses in saving energy costs, strongly betting for renewable energies and for a “greener” world. TSO’s photovoltaic rooftop Community CFV is a conventional energy saving measure and improves energy efficiency in businesses.

For years, agri-food installations and industrial roofs have seen photovoltaic structures with little aesthetical integration. Now, also solar installations for self-consumption can be made. This way, the photovoltaic panels installed on businesses directly improve their energy efficiency.

TSO’s solar panels are highly efficiency and will make a difference in your electricity bill, while reducing your company’s and your products’ carbon footprint.

Most conventional solar panels convert up to 15% of the sun’s energy into electricity. Our PSFU solar panels can convert over 16% of the impinging solar energy into electricity, despite their flexibility; this is why we say they are highly efficient.

We would be thrilled to assess you in how our flexible solar panels can make the difference in your business. Contact us.

Training on photovoltaic self-consumption at CAFS

Our vision at TSO is to innovate to open new markets for solar photovoltaic energy. To that end, one of our key goals is to socialize this energy, i.e., to make it accessible to everyone on every market.

Therefore, after the annulment by the Spanish Constitutional Court, last May 25, 2017, of Article 4.3 of Royal Decree 900/2015 for solar self-consumption, which banned solar photovoltaic installations for shared self-consumption, we have started to train those professionals that take care of our homes and leisure/work spaces, as they are the crucial link we need in order to reduce CO2 footprint at the most energy-consuming agents: buildings.

Our first training took place at the Spanish Association of Property Managers (CAFS, for its Spanish acronym). The training received great acceptance from all attendees as it deepened on the lack of information and knowledge on the legal aspects of this type of efficient installations on our homeowners’ buildings. During 2018, we will keep training the rest of Associations of Property Managers both in Andalusia and the rest of Spain.

Presenting PSU at the EU PVSEC 2017

The TSO team participates for the eleventh year at the international conference on photovoltaic solar energy EU PVSEC, one of the world’s most relevant scientific events.

This year the conference took place in Amsterdam, and TSO presented its new patent PSU to the scientific community, with a great success as a very close-to-market product with immediate application to comply with the European directives of CO2 reduction and Smart grids in cities.

The next EU PVSEC 2018 will take place in Brussels from 24th to 28th of September. TSO wishes to participate presenting its patent OSR, a software for the optimization of the re-powering of photovoltaic solar power plants, currently in development.
