La Planchadora joins self-consumption together with TSO Group to cover their essential needs during this health crisis in the most sustainable way

TSO Group has designed, installed and is currently monitoring the 23.20 kW SUNO® Ultralight panel photovoltaic solar plant, which already supplies electricity during the day to La Planchadora, a well-known dry cleaner and laundry in Seville for its express home service.

Thanks to this photovoltaic plant, La Planchadora covers 97% of its daytime electricity demand, obtaining great benefits in terms of energy savings and efficiency. In this sense, the annual production of the solar plant will reach more than 36,000 kWh and will reduce CO2 emissions by more than 14,000 kg per year, a figure that is equivalent to planting 433 trees each year. According to Jesus Jimenez, manager of La Planchadora, “we are very happy to have a self-consumption plant on our roof which, while allowing us to save money, also contributes to the environment by generating clean energy.”

Due to its adaptability to any surface and high efficiency, the panel installed in the photovoltaic solar plant of La Planchadora has been the SUNO® Ultralight, exclusive of TSO Group. Its flexible and ultralight material has allowed a 100% architectural integration, without the need of structures or perforations. These solar panels are only adhered to the roof with a special polymer to avoid damaging it, as it is treated with an insulating material against high temperatures.

This company will also have the ECO20® seal from TSO Group that will certify the production of photovoltaic solar energy in self-consumption of its plant, which is guaranteed by ECA Bureau Veritas. This requires a minimum period of three months in which to verify the consumption and condition of the solar plant. The company expresses its satisfaction with this sustainable commitment and the manager assures that the next step is to “discard plastic packaging in favour of a more renewable material, such as paper.”

La Planchadora is among the companies that have continued its activity since the decree of State of Alert by the COVID-19, adding to their daily work the manufacture of acetate masks and face protectors, which they distribute among their customers, health personnel and the bodies of the Police and the Civil Guard of the Andalusian capital. In addition, the manager of this company has announced that “we already have prepared masks and protective screens for children”, on the occasion of the permission to walk that has been granted by the Spanish Government and that will be official from Monday 27th.

TSO brings solar selfconsumption with its ultralight panels to the Spain Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

  • Being 100% integrated in the Spain Pavilion, the photovoltaic plant designed by TSO, will guarantee not only its sustainability but also a zero-visual impact.

TSO, The South Oracle, a photovoltaic engineering company and pioneer of self-consumption in Spain, is in charge of designing and providing, with its ultralight solar panels, the plant that will supply solar energy to the Spain Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, the first Universal Exhibition to be held in the Middle East and which will be inaugurated on October 20th. This initiative comes after the sponsorship agreement reached with Accion Cultural Española (AC/E), which is the public company responsible for managing Spain’s presence at the Universal and International Exhibitions.

TSO’s directives, Antonio Calo and Cristina Vicente, signed in Madrid’s AC/E headquarters the sponsorship agreement with AC/E Financial Director, Eduardo Fernandez Palomares. Through this agreement, the Sevillian company becomes a “Partner in the construction of the Spain Pavilion”, designed by the studio Amann-Canovas-Maruri (Temperaturas Extremas Arquitectos, S.L.P.).

Continuing its mission to socialize solar energy, TSO is doing its part to make the Spain Pavilion at EXPO 2020 Dubai more sustainable through a state-of-the-art photovoltaic plant. To achieve this goal, the solar plant, of about 60 kWp, will be 100% integrated in the avant-garde construction of the building, guaranteeing a zero-visual impact. This fusion between architecture and engineering will be possible thanks to the ultralight solar panel provided by TSO, whose technical specifications (flexibility, weight of about 3 kg/m² and customization) allow its total adaptation to any surface or structure.

TSO’s engineering team is working with enthusiasm on this project, which is a new milestone in its business career, as it is the company of the Spanish photovoltaic sector that will help in the field of energy efficiency in the construction and in the subsequent operation of the pavilion of its country of origin. In addition to representing it at Expo 2020 Dubai as a pioneer in photovoltaic innovation, TSO has also been operating since September 2018 both in Spain and in the United Arab Emirates.

The Spain Pavilion, of about 6,000 m², will be in the Expo district dedicated to sustainability, under the slogan “Intelligence for Life”. It will feature spectacular architecture, highlighted by its iconic strength, circular economy criteria and a design based on the recycling of its materials. It is conceived as a large square covered by a series of iconic volumes, with parasols of different sizes, on which will be integrated the ultralight TSO panels, which will also carry the colours of the Spanish flag.

TSO’s self-consumption to brew Seville’s first solar beer

In its mission to socialise solar energy, TSO, The South Oracle, once again brings photovoltaic self-consumption to the Spanish food sector, specifically to a 100% natural brewery in Seville called Guadalquibeer. This young company, whose brand name pays tribute to the Andalusian greatest river, is positioned in the artisanal brewery market for its environmental commitment both in the natural brewing of its beers and now, in the incorporation of solar energy to its electricity supply. Achieving this way, the qualification of ‘the first solar beer’ of the Sevillian province.

For this purpose, TSO has installed a self-consumption photovoltaic solar plant on the roof of the factory of about 11 kW of power, which will allow Guadalquibeer to cover 94% of its daytime electricity consumption per year, reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by around 6,800 kg, which is equivalent to around 4,500 trees.

Thanks to TSO’s Solar Electric Tariff (TSE), the first in Spain that includes the installation, a fixed price and a maintenance service, this artisan factory has set at 0.125 € the kilowatt price during the daytime hours for 10 years, which is the established contract period with TSO in which the real-time plant monitoring with an Energy Coach Service is also covered, thanks to what TSO calls GRAE: the Remote Management Department of Assistance to the Efficiency offered by TSO to its clients to solve in record time any doubt or incidence.

Guadalquibeer, the first 100% natural solar beer of Sevillian origin, will also bear the ECO20® seal, certifying its manufacture with solar energy for self-consumption. This seal created by TSO and endorsed by ECA Bureau Veritas is the only one in the market that guarantees a production obtained with renewable energy in direct self-consumption. In this way, Guadalquibeer completes the benefits offered by TSO when switching to photovoltaic self-consumption. Very soon this artisan beer will be in Sevillian establishments guaranteeing with the ECO20®  seal its commitment to sustainability and the environment.
