The innovative SINGLE FOP system guarantees maximum security with real-time communications in the event of incidents or theft of solar panels
TSO Group, which has recently celebrated 25 years in the photovoltaic solar energy sector, adds another milestone in the Spanish self-consumption by collaborating with SABICO SEGURIDAD to implement the first security system with plastic fiber optics in a distributed generation plant in Spain. Specifically, in the 424 kWp self-consumption photovoltaic installation on the roof of a renowned private university centre, located in the province of Seville.
This innovative system known as SINGLE FOP consists of the installation of plastic fiber optics in each of the solar panels of the photovoltaic plant, ensuring maximum protection against theft and incidents, by generating communications via email of the status of the plant in real time. The rooftop distributed generation plant for self-consumption, where SINGLE FOP has been implemented for the first time in our country, consists of a total of 1117 solar panels, for which more than 2 km of plastic fiber optics have been required.
Some of the advantages of this innovative safety and protection system is its wiring of a diameter of merely 2.2 mm, which can easily be installed in the solar panels, and the immunity it has against interference from antennas, electrical cables or bad weather. Among other qualities, it is noteworthy for its performance in extreme temperatures, from -40º to +85º, due to its polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) core and its anti UV coating.
With this pioneer project, TSO Group and SABICO SEGURIDAD join forces with the aim of implementing in Spain a photovoltaic self-consumption that, under the seal of this cooperation, is synonymous with quality, safety and excellence. Integrating the monitoring and assistance to the energy efficiency guaranteed by TSO Group, through its GRAE department, with the advanced security and protection system SINGLE FOP by SABICO SEGURIDAD, monitored in one of its Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
